The Enchantment
Once upon a time an enchantment crept through the Library, winding through the stacks and slipping amongst the shelves. Those that were touched by this classical magic might find themselves seeing things that they had thought were impossible or finding themselves bursting into song. Some may find themselves wishing for love or adventure, perhaps even both. While others find themselves acting as vagabond or prince.
With the enchantment came a menagerie of flora and fauna, but not to worry. Gardens bloom with fanciful flowers and the darker aisles begin to resemble a forest instead of the more mundane shelves. Strange birds break up the Library's hush and mice scurry from shelf to table, whispering of lost Princesses. These woodland creatures are not to be feared... unless someone has stumbled into the more Grimm areas of the Fiction section. Although the spell is only beginning, the patrons touched by its magic may act strangely or find themselves slightly - or more than slightly - changed by the enchantment.
Remember that this is only be beginning of our Tale. Other wonders and mysteries will soon appear...

He wandered off into the Fiction area, trying to set one area of the Library right like the Head Librarian has requested. His clothes looked shabby, nothing unusual with that since Alec wore his sweaters until they were ragged. After running his hands through his hair a few times, it stuck up on end as if he hadn't combed it in days. Covered in dust, he looked drab and uninteresting. Humming under his breath, he started organizing books on one of the tables, sorting them by author, barely singing a lyric or two while putting the the books on the shelf.

Which was odd. Extremely odd actually.
But he refused to stop searching and it seemed to pay off as he found himself in the presence of a young man that was definitely looking worse for the wear. It brought a gentle frown to the dwarf's face and he approached, making sure the other would be able to hear him as he did.
"Anything I can do to help, good sir?"

Which was a strange thought that caused him to set down the book he'd been dusting. He had left the Institute. He'd been living with Magnus before they'd arrived at the Library. Why had he thought that he needed to leave?
When Alec heard a voice, he thought it was weird that he didn't react like he should have. If someone he hadn't known had snuck up on him before, he would have been reaching for one of his blades. Instead, he smiled at the stranger even while wondering why he wasn't more worried by what was happening.
For a moment, he began to say that he could use help with some of the broken shelves but the words turn into something he didn't expect. "Thank you, but princes should not clean. That's servants' work."
Why did he say that? He doesn't normally talk that way and why did Alec call him a prince?

Of course, he wasn't all that surprised that he found his lover among the books. Alec liked books more than he did. Magnus just liked them better somedays than others. Leaning an elbow on a shelf, his lips curled into a small smirk as he let his golden eyes follow Alec around the room.
The scruffiness was just... so endearing every time. Since when did he accept such a mode of dress in his partners, he didn't know. But Alec would always be different to him. Alec well...
"I don't believe I've ever heard you sing, handsome. Something new you are trying?"
no subject
After a few steps he realized that he was a mess, covered in dust and... Running a hand through his hair, he wondered how he'd picked up ashes when there was no sign of a fire anywhere in the room. Magnus shouldn't see him like this. It wasn't right. He should...
That smirk stopped that thought. Magnus didn't care how he looked. He never had, not really. He might like blue eyes and black hair but that wasn't what was important.
"I guess so? I didn't realize I was." He'd been so busy with the books that he hadn't noticed. Maybe he'd started since he missed having his iPod. Grinning at his boyfriend, Alec wiped his palm against his jeans to clean it before taking Magnus' hand. "I'm not great at it but if you promise not to dump me if I'm off key, I'll sing for you."

As he lifted it up to study the piece, he felt an odd compulsion that caused him to shove the crown into his pack and sling the bag onto his shoulder. He had to find somewhere to hide. He had to find some safe place for the treasure he'd found. He couldn't let anyone take the crown from him.
no subject
And for some reason he kept thinking about Elrohir but that...well. He wasn't going to dwell on that too much.
Even if the other had stunning eyes and beautiful hair--
No. Bad.
Shaking his head a bit to clear his thoughts, Fili rounded a corner as he continued to search for his brother, spotting the other just as he slung his bag over his shoulder.
"Kili!"
no subject
"Brother, I was about to go exploring." The words should have sounded not have sounded guilty. They were the truth. He had been planning to search the Library, but for a hiding place for the crown, not to learn more about this strange realm. "I - Have you noticed anything strange?" He almost mentioned the crown but he could not seem to find his voice when he tried, which worried him more the crown being in his pack. Why would he not trust his brother with his find?

Then there was the fact that sharp pointy things kept showing up where ever he was. Pencils, pins and once a needle that looks like Jigsaw would have enjoyed using it. "Okay now things might be getting weird," Barry muttered as he carefully set the wicked looking thing aside.

It had fur, though, which at least meant it wasn't a dinosaur, something he was definitely okay with.
A loud crash sent the
huntsmantrainer running, skidding around one of the shelves as he grabbed a hold of it to swing himself down the next isle--Only to practically slam right into Barry.
"Shit!"
no subject
Barry reacted faster then a normal human would have grabbing the guy and then one of the shelves to brace himself before they both fell over. Thank you super speed... "Hey," he yelped, "give a guy a little warning next time okay." He looked the guy over, he didn't think he'd met him yet."You okay there?"

Owen | OTA~
Things had been getting even stranger as of late, though.
Owen had been keeping himself busy with doing what he could to help the Librarian, keeping tabs on certain areas of the library that he noted were more troublesome than others and making sure that the Librarian himself didn't over do it. It almost felt like being back at Jurassic World, what with the way he had to monitor everything and all, and that thought--oddly enough--made him more comfortable in the library. But there was one area in particular that he'd found himself wandering through as of late and that was the non-fiction section.
Particularly because of the animals.
In fact, the trainer could be found lounging on a makeshift seat made of books, flipping through the pages of a heavy volume that he had propped against the fox sleeping in his lap as various other animals that had escaped the books wandered about.
no subject
That deserved a reassessment of human nature. Or the nature of some humans.
The Cat was rather pleased that Owen had chosen non-fiction for his exploration. Many preferred the fantasies that hid in the realms of fiction than the facts that became reality in his own area.
Watching Owen from one of the higher shelves, he set down the parcel he had been carrying, spitting out the taste of fabric before leaping down to a lower shelves, staying away from the animals that have decided to keep Owen company. "It seems that you've made some friends."
no subject
"Yeah, I guess so. They just sort of followed me around--especially this girl," he mused as he ran a hand down the fox's back, setting his book aside for the time being. The fox's tail flicked and it's eyes cracked open just the slightest bit, a content look about the creature before she promptly drifted off again.
Too content to be bothered for long it seemed.
"How are things with you today?"

Okay... I am just... no sorry and Elrohir HATES me.
He hated cleaning, too. And singing in front of people. Yet all of that seemed non-existent now.
Something he regretted as he ran through the library much like a maiden would from the giant bugbear stampeding after him. "I did not mean to wake you!" He called out frantically as he rounded a corner and maybe he had put some space between them, but he ended up tripping and tumbling across the floor causing many little animals to scuffle out of his way and then surround him again looking very concerned.
He smiled at them apologetically for startling them. "Forgive me..." He heard the growl of the creature and looked around in fear only to see Owen. "Do you think it will find me here?"
asjdbajsbda Poor Elrohir xD
"What's up--" Whatever he'd been about to ask, in full, was cut off by the sudden appearance of someone that went tumbling onto the floor, an act which sent all the animals scattering--including his fox.
He immediately set the book aside and made to get up and help the other only to find himself freezing at the sound of that growl. For a moment he almost feared a dinosaur had gotten loose but no, no that sound wasn't right. Owen had no idea what it, in fact, was, but it definitely wasn't a dinosaur.
"..No idea, but we probably shouldn't stick around to find out," he admitted, moving again and offering a hand to help the other up. "Come on."
HE'S A DAMSEL. Yep. He hates me.
PRECIOUS DAMSEL
Owen... don't make him relive this later...
;D ;D ;D
He will chase you... with a bow and arrow.
Don't make him sick a dinosaur on you
Elrohir says you don't have a dinosaur yet, so ;P
Details details!

Suddenly she felt the need to hide. Someone might want her seemingly magical hair for their own purposes. She had to get away.
The logical part of her mind knew she was being ridiculous, and the real problem was that her hair had gotten so long at an alarming rate, but for some odd reason, she felt the need to protect it.
That was when she found the ladder. It seemed logical that she should hide somewhere high up, so she climbed, finding a little room at the top. It was cozy, and she imagined she could keep safe here, and so she kicked the ladder away. It would not be impossible to reach, but it would be difficult. Yes, this would do. It would be safe here.
With a sigh she set about cleaning her new quarters. Night would come soon. Perhaps there would be a way to see the stars. She still longed to see them, despite her need to keep safe.

However, he suddenly stopped as the bird climbed higher and twirled until it lighted on a rail up high. "Why do you hide from me, small one? Is something up there you wish me to see?"
Grinning, he did not realize the bird was there to see the one hiding up above.

Eventually, he heard something... faint but growing louder. It almost sounded as if someone was pursuing him. His hand caught at the pack that bounced against his hip. For some reason he did not confront this enemy, choosing to flee instead of facing whoever chased him.
Running between the shelves and leaping over piles of books, he caught sight of a room above. From that height he could hide or, if necessary, defend the crown. Making sure that the pack's strap was secure, he began climbing up the shelves, looking over his shoulder for some sign of whoever was behind him. Finally reaching the railing, Kili pulled himself over, stumbling a few steps backward as he tried to catch a glimpse of his pursuers before realizing that he should make sure that the room was safe.

Flynn Carson|OTA
Little town, it's a quiet village..... everyday like the one before...
HE began to sing, and suddenly he could picture the village in France with such clarity.

Looking up from the pages, he stared at the other patron for a moment, surprised that someone else had ended up singing like he had earlier. That was strange but the thought didn't really connect. Instead, he hummed along, proving music of sorts for the song that he was pretty sure was familiar thanks to days spent babysitting Izzy.
Better late then never?
At the moment he can be found, resting in fiction, axe propped up beside him near a shelf, his feet bent over roots of a tree in a garden or fest that has sprouted up. In truth he looks like he fits here, though his Russian WWII uniform is slightly off color to a woodsmen, he still looks as if he could chop wood with the best of them.
The man sits there for a break, writing down words in his paper journal. It looks as if it's half filled and he's still working on it. If one was to peek they might see a sentence like:
It truly boggles the mind to find earth and forests among trees. To reach out and grace finger tips over bark and realize just how real it all feels. And here I thought my life could get no stranger. I know I've said that before in these pages, but today just underlines the statement. I--
He paused, not moving, just staring, stiff like tin for the moment, though really he was just deep in thought. Emotions started to flair more lately. And that in itself was weird.
If anyone bothered him at this moment, it would take him a moment to snap out of his thoughts.

Watch out for flailing, wandering limbs--because she's sure not watching where she's going.

Frustrated enough, that he for once, missed the oncoming girl as she collided with him. Instantly catching her, he steadied Nako on her feet and smiled just a little. He could feel the spirit of a character upon her... but to his chagrin he could not warn her. "Good day, Nako... I see you are in good spirits?"
