The Enchantment
Once upon a time an enchantment crept through the Library, winding through the stacks and slipping amongst the shelves. Those that were touched by this classical magic might find themselves seeing things that they had thought were impossible or finding themselves bursting into song. Some may find themselves wishing for love or adventure, perhaps even both. While others find themselves acting as vagabond or prince.
With the enchantment came a menagerie of flora and fauna, but not to worry. Gardens bloom with fanciful flowers and the darker aisles begin to resemble a forest instead of the more mundane shelves. Strange birds break up the Library's hush and mice scurry from shelf to table, whispering of lost Princesses. These woodland creatures are not to be feared... unless someone has stumbled into the more Grimm areas of the Fiction section. Although the spell is only beginning, the patrons touched by its magic may act strangely or find themselves slightly - or more than slightly - changed by the enchantment.
Remember that this is only be beginning of our Tale. Other wonders and mysteries will soon appear...

"Does that mean they can talk or something? Isn't that what animals in Disney movies and fairy tales can do?" Meet someone who had never really spent much time delving into fantasy stuff. He really has no clue what sorts of things to expect from his animal companions now.
"Hey, wolves would still be easier to deal with than the dinosaurs I dealt with back home. At least with wolves I'm bigger than they are." Unless it was some crazy fictional creature. Like a werewolf. Yeah no, no he's okay with rabbits and foxes. "I hope you're right. Kronos was a little vague on the details of what might come out of the books."
Hah, oops. Look at that slip.
"I learned a long time ago that sometimes it's best to fight stubbornness with stubbornness. Tends to get the job done a bit faster."

Owen was one of the few that he would make that joke with. Assumptions wouldn't be made just because the Cat pretended to be like the character in a fairy tale. "Being bigger does not always mean being the victor, especially in this place. Things are not always what they seem."
Giving the being a stern look, he lashed his tail once in warning. "Remember to be careful when using his name. The other patrons have not been given it and they should not learn it until he is ready to tell them." There was power in words and in knowledge. Some things should not be given casually.
"I do not mind having help keeping an eye on him. There is only so much I can do in this form. And he - we - are lonely here. We need someone who understands that his powers are not limitless and he does have his own failings like any other being."
