Training task (Luke, 10, 4 and Trance)

He'd listened to the Librarian's talk and demonstration, still trying to take it all in. He wasn't as completely surprised as he surmised some of the others in the room might be. It was strange and new, but his life hadn't exactly been normal since he'd left Tattooine all those years ago. Most of the beings, human or otherwise, were strangers to him, although he was still coming to grips that somehow, Tarkin was here as well. He had what Han would call a bad feeling that they were going to squabble a lot before this was through. Part of Luke still wanted to kill the Imperial, after what he'd done to Leia and Alderaan. But, a Jedi did not seek revenge. He'd probably just do his best to stay out of Tarkin's way when they were all in here and not get into too many fights.

The books, apparently, were like portals or gates, passages to different worlds. The one his fingers ended up opening was...great, a farm. Just about the lowest thing on his list to see. Of course, raising crops and animals was a different thing than moisture farming in the desert, but he suspected there'd be some similarities, too.

He'd been told it was best to go about this with partners, so he'd talked to a few of others and there were four of them now as they prepared to step through the portal.

It is really good that Four offers his hand on Ten's shoulder because he needs to keep a grip on his compassion. He gives himself a small head nod in a silent 'thanks'.

Looking down at Trance's body, "I'm sorry. I'm so, so, sorry."

Then spots the arrow coming at Luke, oh HELL no and with his sonic screwdriver creates a sonic airwave and splits the arrow into pieces after the arrow is deflected. Ten eyes Luke for a moment.

"John's right. Come on."

"Later," Four mutters, his eyes never leaving his older self. There would be time to mourn later (even if it made little sense to the younger Doctor).

"Our families are innocent as well. We take what we can!" Another volley of arrows, even as more of the bandits are hesitating. The weapons and magicks these men were using...they had never seen anything like it.

The village is nearly in shambles, carts and straw strewn everywhere. "Get the food!" "Don't forget to check everywhere!" Voices shouted, mixing with the gutteral cries of farmers and stable boys who'd attempted to fight.

Things had gone too far, Four frowned and pushed his older self forward, "The man is old enough to decide if he should join us or stay here and turn these pathetic ones into something funny." He hoped their companion was wise to catch on to the deception. Scare them, Four tried to communicate with only eyes and tones, send them running.

It just took the time for the older Doctor to look away from the corpse and for the three to focus on the volley for the body to wake back up. When no one gave her much attention, Trance was actually quite quick and stealthy when she needed to be. With the way that things go, the choices to be made, Trance trusted that Luke would make up for any reckless plans that the Doctor went for.

She couldn't fight multiple people or really defend carts and people. What Trance could do is draw attention and help with that scaring thing that John wanted to do and ease the workload of the real powerhouses. Enough talking and distraction should give someone better a chance to save those people.

"Or," the blonde declared loudly as one of the shooting bandits slowly passes out to the ground, the purple tail unwinding from his throat. He wasn't dead, but no one would know that until they checked. It was getting the attention that she wanted first, as she steadily walked towards the leader. Even if a bandit shot towards her, she wasn't going to flinch away from her target, or even dodge out of the way. They would either miss, or she'd catch the arrow with her hand or tail. What better way to scare them than with a demon? Despite how cute and inquisitive she was with Luke earlier, this was a tone much darker and with an intimidating weight that hadn't been witnessed before. "I can drag you all to a very, very bad place where your souls will face a dark punishment and your families will be cursed. Cursed with the consequences as they and everyone will know what you did, and that it's their fault. They'll be outcast, unable to support themselves in any way or allowed to earn their keep, until the shame and loneliness slowly and ultimately drags them down to us as well.

"Unless, of course, you really do care about your families. Then you can call off the attack, tend to the injured and clean everything up. If you finish helping with the harvest and explain the situation, some will be shared and no one will go hungry. Of course this is a limited time offer, and it's going fast."

Please let that be more than enough of a decoy.

Alright, self! Alright! Ten runs into the village and once there screaming fiercely, "EVERYONE GET OUT! GET OUT RIGHT NOW!"

As Ten runs around like a madman banging doors and ringing bells.

"IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIVES YOU'LL LEAVE RIGHT NOW!"

As Ten runs pass a black smith's store, grabs a sword and a slings a net over his shoulders if need be hopefully, tossing that from a rooftop could trap a group of them.

Oddly enough, Trance's death has triggered his fighting mode.

"Self...ah." He could only stare (along with the bandits) as Trace seemingly lifted from the dead. With a small shrug he headed towards the village. Oh the things he would ask once he had the chance! It was the only reason he was grinning as he followed himself through the town. "A sword? Since when?" Four didn't know how to sword fight, neither had the ones before him.

The bandits could only stare in horror as the woman they had shoot stood up. The ones already headed towards the village missed the sight, but the ones near simply stared at their leader before turning on their heels and heading towards the forest again. "COWARDS! COME BACK!" He growled and turned towards the two. Drawing his sword he sneered, "I'll not run, demon. My men need food and those who fight will get a king's share!" He charged the two, sword swinging in the air making the metal sing.

The villagers took the word of the strange man, seeing the bandits approaching and the market already near shreds. Some men took weapons, ready to defend their homes and families.
