The Enchantment
Once upon a time an enchantment crept through the Library, winding through the stacks and slipping amongst the shelves. Those that were touched by this classical magic might find themselves seeing things that they had thought were impossible or finding themselves bursting into song. Some may find themselves wishing for love or adventure, perhaps even both. While others find themselves acting as vagabond or prince.
With the enchantment came a menagerie of flora and fauna, but not to worry. Gardens bloom with fanciful flowers and the darker aisles begin to resemble a forest instead of the more mundane shelves. Strange birds break up the Library's hush and mice scurry from shelf to table, whispering of lost Princesses. These woodland creatures are not to be feared... unless someone has stumbled into the more Grimm areas of the Fiction section. Although the spell is only beginning, the patrons touched by its magic may act strangely or find themselves slightly - or more than slightly - changed by the enchantment.
Remember that this is only be beginning of our Tale. Other wonders and mysteries will soon appear...

Don't make him sick a dinosaur on you
Owen glanced at Elorhir with a confused look on his face, ready to protest that he didn't have any sort of weapon with him but then he felt the weight in his hand and unconsciously he gripped the axe tighter.
"How in the hell.." he murmured, staring at it for a moment as his steps faltered only for him to snap out of his daze as the sound of the Bugbear's approach grew closer. A curse was muttered before he was tugging Elrohir down another aisle, trying to figure out where exactly they were so he could get his bearing.
They had to be close to someplace safe--safer than on the ground at least.
Elrohir says you don't have a dinosaur yet, so ;P
"Do.. do you think if we get higher up?" He really was not sure what to do. He felt oddly lost and the Library seemed so much darker in that moment. Looking around, he sought an end to all the shelves before pointing. "There... there is a stair case to the second floor..." It spiraled up onto the open balcony leading to the next floor... but he could not recall if he had been to this part of the library before.
It seemed that vines and flowers were creeping down the stairs and splaying out over the ceiling. It looked beautiful, but unreal all at the same time.
Details details!
He started to agree to the idea of getting higher up when a loud crash made him flinch and tug Elrohir behind himself slightly, his steps faltering as he turned to face whatever was coming their way.
"Try and find the stairs--Go! I'll be right behind you!" he urged, even if he didn't really have any intention of following. But what mattered was getting the girl--no, wait, this wasn't a girl that was weird--getting his companion to safety.

Something told him he should help...
But the pull on his senses and the irrational fear in his head won out. "Please be careful, good sir!" He pleaded, his hand lightly on Owen's arm before he turned and ran with all his elven speed toward the stairs... right as the Bugbear barreled around a corner and straight at them.
The creature stared at them both, and by some stroke of misfortune perhaps? It chose to pursue him instead of the other man. "You truly hold grudges!" He lamented this as he managed to dive and roll away from the swing of what looked like a giant club. Unfortunately, losing his balance, he failed to regain his footing and ended up rolling hard into the bottom step of the stairway.

Owen didn't hesitate to take off after Elrohir when he realized what was happening, cursing the fact that the bugbear had gone after the other instead of him. He saw the club swing and winced as Elrohir hit the stairs--
His hand tightened around his axe as he came up on the bugbear from behind, swinging the weapon and striking the beast in the back of the leg. He didn't stop there, wrenching it free and making sure to move quickly, going for the other leg to deliver another blow.
"Foul beast!"
...What the hell kind of insult was that?
