The 9th Hour... (Phase 1: Sept-Oct Event)
The cold presence is seeping in through the dark shadows. The darkness is reaching further, brushing the minds of the patrons and opening doors to dimensions that should not be open. Something wants in. But in the Central Library, there are ways to get through without crossing entirely… through your dreams. Among other things.
Pick one of the options below and make a post for other patrons to join you in the events. You may make up your own, but keep it matching the event at hand as the different phases of the event will progressively get worse.
1. Your dreams are getting dangerous, violent even. When you wake up, there are bruises and injuries that shouldn’t be there. What is going on? Why are your dreams becoming a reality little by little? And why is it getting so hard to wake up?
2. Things are shifting in the Library. The shadows are moving and the temperatures are starting to drop. There are cold spots that sometimes get colder and sometimes it feels like if you turn around, you’ll find someone right behind you.
3. The monsters are looking a bit more frantic and daring to come closer to the center of the Library where they normally will not tread. It seems you aren’t the only ones scared of the dark recesses any longer.
4. The Market is now a lovely little faire of the early Renaissance with all sorts of fresh grain, fruits and vegetables! It is a brilliant sight, but it seems the ominous plague masks they don still gives a foreboding feeling of the miasma that killed over two-thirds of the world’s population… Perhaps you shouldn’t wander very far.
5. New areas are now opened up. A blacksmith and workshop for the tinkers has been created. You might want to look or contribute... You might also want to stop in the new bath area. The large pool has a Grecian feel and all of the walls are made of crystalline glass where the stars are always shining with a different universe in constant succession.
6. Wild Card: Make up your own scenario. Just remember that all of the things above are happening. Things are getting foreboding and growing stronger by the day. Sleep will be a luxury you might not have… You may not see what’s coming, not yet. But you know it’s coming.

"...Ss.S..no." The blood seeps out more, one long red line and he raises his hand to her, "No. Baby I found you. Kara, my Kara. It felt like...felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest but you're not dead. I didn't make the worst mistake of my life."
He looks ten years younger.
"...believed in me in mine when nobody else...when nobody else would or could, I -" He blinks, "...bleeding."
"I'm bleeding."
There's blood all over their sheets and he looks to her, scared, then serious, "Kara I'm bleeding."
no subject
As he reaches to touch her and takes, she tries to reach for that hand, that wrist, only to watch it dawn on him that he's bleeding.
As calm as she can sound (as scared as she was). "I'm right here, love. I'm fine. It's just a dream. A nightmare. I'm right here. Let me..." She sucked in on her swollen lip and started to wrap his wrist as best as she could, as fast as she could.
It's not like it's the first injury she's ever wrapped. It's firm and stable, but if he didn't stop bleeding they'd need to do more. For now it was a pressure bandage to try to stop it.
She pressed his arm back to his chest, keeping it up a bit before going to rip a new long strip. "It'll be okay, baby. We'll take care of it. I... I don't know what happened though. I woke up and heard you and..." She sucked in a breath, ripped and moved to try to wrap the next wrist.
Her hands were shaking.

He swallowed, "I thought...I thought you were skye. And she was telling me to kill myself again."
no subject
She felt the squeeze, but she shook her head, taking her hand out of him and taking his hand instead, stilling it as she pressed it to his chest again, as if to tell him to keep it up like she was showing him. She finished the tight pressure wrap on the other now and pushed it to his chest as well, cupping her hands over his wrists, hands still shaking but holding him to steady herself too.
"Don't you ever think that. No matter who tells you anything like that. Dreams or not. There is no reason to kill yourself." She leaned in to kiss the backs of his hands, frowning still. "We need to get this properly looked at though. I think there was a doctor in the group? Banner or something? We need to make sure you're going to be okay, baby. And I need to find the Head Librarian and find out what the fuck is going on."
Because her belly hurt, her head hurt, and he had cut wrists again . This was something new.
no subject
He freezes, "No. No. No I'm not seeing him. No." At any moment Skye could be here, Coulson could show up, he was their friend, if they knew...
He grimaces.
"...I can sew it up if you find me cat gut and a needle baby, I-" He rubs his wrists and shakes his head before wrapping his arms around her and holding her close.
"....Hold me.
Please. I- I never asked anyone to do it then."
no subject
"Okay, it's all right. I can do it for you, love. Let's just get it to stop bleeding a bit." She said as calmly as she could, and he barely had to ask he to hold him, and she leaned into him and wrapped her arms around him, kneeling beside him and making sure she was a protective blanket around him. She could feel the sore aches in her body from fights in her past, or not even in her real past, but it was nothing compared to this.
"You never asked no one then because I wasn't there. Which I wish I was. I'm here now though. Let's... not go back to sleep."
no subject
"I'm supposed to be the one protecting you."
But it's gentle and warm and he leans against her.
"...Only thing I'd know how to do is...grab the librarian and force him to talk."
no subject
Where she wanted to be here to help, he wanted to be here for her. His anger is strong, and she knows it. Still, she wants to help him be Grant again.
"I'll go find him. After a bit. it can wait a moment. But we don't need to force him to talk. He's really a good being, I think. We start with asking, okay?" She said with a nuzzle into his ear and cheek, a pressed kiss. She's learned and managed, maybe he will relearn as well, after some time.
She intends to go looking for the Librarian in a bit. On her own.

He moves to stand and staggers.
"...woof."
no subject
time for tiny Kara to be authoritative. Follow her instructions for a change.

"...It was the running into walls that really did it. I mean that was...that was me at the end of my rope."
no subject
Coming to the bed side again she dropped a few things off, as well as bandages and... a small white cardboard box of cookies and two oranges. She sits those to the side and knees on the bed beside him.
She hurts. There are aches and pains all over, but he wont notice. He wont notice because she's very good at hiding her pains. Or tries to be. She instead works on him.
She moves to take one of his hands, bringing it to her and slowly, slowly, unwrapping it. "That was the past, Grant. They messed with you so badly, love, but that was the past. No more walls. No more rope."
She started to clean it.
no subject
"...and I helped you."
He needs to know he did that.
no subject
She nodded, going back to work, cleaning his first wrist off. "You helped me. When no one else would. Now it's my turn, okay?"
She reached over and took out a cookie, moving to place it in his other hand that she wasn't working on. "Eat this. It will help a bit." She then smiled, faintly. "Me and a cookie. We will help." When she was sure the bleeding was taken care of as well as she could, pressure to keep it closed, she would start the stitches. She's done this a few times before now. "This will pinch..."
no subject
"...Nobody would have ever done this for me until you Kara." His voice is soft, "I used to dream...to hope that once I'd gotten away from garrett things would be better. That there would be people who'd do this for me.
I didn't realize I'd have to find you, but now that I have..."
The moment her fingers brush his he shivers.
"I keep hurting you."
no subject
"The kind of people we were trained to be generally aren't trained to see past anthers... past." She learned that with SHIELD as well. Perhaps if she hadn't tried to back stab them. To kidnap the Mockingbird. Maybe she could have been redeemed, but instead she died.
She shook her head, kissing the back of his hand before working on the other to finish it. "You have me now though, so you don't have to worry about those people."
She looked up as he said he keeps hurting her. "You haven't hurt me since you got here. You've never hurt me." Killed her, but that wasn't her. That was Kara the mentally insane masquerading as Agent May the Bitch. He shot May, not her. So she feels.
no subject
First things first. The look on his gaze is nothing but regret. It's nothing but the truth. If he'd thought, if he had actually thought and not...been so reckless...
His eyes are wet.
"I love you baby."
no subject
"I love you too, baby. We take care of each other night. Promise." She moved to kiss his forehead as well before drawing back to stand full before him, nodding to the bed and the oranges. "Eat something. Let me clean all this up."
then when she was sure he would be all right she would go looking for the Librarians.

And one notation though. the best he can do now that he has a second chance. There's a perfect rose on her pillow, no thorns. It's resting on her pillow, perfect. Nothing so common as a Daisy. Daises are a drop in the bucket.
Roses for her.

"You must be feeling well enough to find me flowers." She moved to slide into the bed, not beside him, but over him, settling in on him lightly and resting her head to his chest and shoulder (wincing only as the bruising on her ribs hit her), looking over at the flower. Her hand reached out to pick it up, bringing it to her nose to smell as she laid over him.
"It's lovely, thank you." She said softly, sighing a bit.
no subject
His chest hurts just thinking about it. For one fleeting moment he can feel her pain and his heart breaks.
"Even the bad ones like today baby."
no subject
She let out a sigh, wanting to sleep still, but not daring too. "Are you feeling okay at the moment, love?"
no subject
He sighs, almost - almost contented, "Really sleep."
no subject
"I want you to rest, but not sleep. Not until I find the Head Librarian and find out what's going on."
no subject
He sniffs, pulling her close, "But we got a second chance."
