Action-Log [Open]---Cleaning up and Organizing
Who: Trunks (Future) and YOU (Open to all.)
What: After dealing with a haunted village and an abyss that feeds on rage, Trunks needs something normal and productive to do. Cleaning and organizing it is!
When:Post-orientation events? (Especially post his)
Where: Main Library--Dorm section
Warnings: Dust? None yet.
After checking in with the Librarians, after his and Sunset's adventure in the book with the butterfly on it and the cursed village and abyss, Trunks needed a distraction. A solo distraction, given the memories and emotions dealt with on their adventure. Wandering in the 'safe' areas but near the main-desk, eventually he found his way to what looked like a dorm section.
This must be where they would all be staying. There were empty name-plates on doors lining a hallway, and looking in one produced what he'd expected. Small rooms with basic furniture, and an attached bathroom. But the furniture was all stacked, and dusty, and linens were folded and left on the bed. Perfect--cleaning and organizing would give him something to do that would be mindless enough, but physically active.
He claimed a room by virtue of leaving his jacket and sword in it, and pulling the furniture down. Chair off the desk, making the bed, and he'd dust his own later. Taking one of the towels, he moved methodically down the hallway. Each room got a thorough dusting, and the beds were made and furniture set right and organized. Not more physically taxing than helping with the shelters he did back home, for those who'd escaped the Androids.
[OOC: Come say hi to a sweaty demi-saiyan doing some house cleaning. Feel free to help him, or not.]

Kind of glad he'd opened-up to Rose now, even if he hadn't planned on it.
"Power-levels...right." Trying to think of how to explain. "Let me back up some. Remember those aliens I told you I was familiar with? and ki-manipulation?" She needed some information, before he could continue. Part of him wanted to wince--as she was probably going to tease him about being a superhero again too.
no subject
She nodded her head about the ki and aliens. "So like a psychic fighting kung-fu alien thing?"
no subject
Good job Rose, he's grinning again and actually relaxed. Or maybe it's he's finally getting tired. Who knows?
"Well, ki-manipulation is actually something anyone can learn, provided they have the right training. Pure human martial artists can do it, although it's really rare for them to do much more than basically have an idea of how to 'sense' someone, or use it to boost their endurance and stamina. Basically think of 'ki' as being your entirely body/mind/soul being in balance and focused. Namekians just are more adept at it, and can use it to do other things--like energy blasts, or flying, in addition to sensing someone's presence as well as their rough level of ability."
no subject
As for anyone being able to do ki manipulation... "Wot, really?" She tilted her head. She knew TimeLords were far more advanced with psychic energies, and the TARDIS used to offer her some protection, and Torchwood trained everyone in rudimentary psychic levels but even just being able to tell someone else's capacity.... "Yeah? Can you sense mine?" Another head tilt.

She sucked quietly on a finger in thought. "So Gohan trained you... but fighting the androids didn't go so well, when did you decide to try going backwards in history?"
no subject
"Frieza destroyed their planet well before I was ever born. Only off-world Saiyans survived, and that number was maybe less than 5?" Trunks knew of only 4 himself, and in his own time-line, he was the last he knew for sure could claim Saiyan blood.

"Mom and the others, including Goku himself, didn't know he was this until about when Goku was married, with a kid. Because then his brother showed up to find out what had happened, and oh hey, decimate the planet if he could." Quick version--because this could get long. As Sunset had already found out. "I'll tell you the longer version of this some other time. So, Goku is an saiyan. His son, Gohan, is half-saiyan. By this time, there only 3 beings known to have Saiyan blood, all residing on Earth. Goku, his son, and then Prince Vegeta."
Making sure she was following so far.
no subject
She ticked off her fingers, "Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta. Was Vegeta Goku's brother?"
no subject
"So, back to Namek and when it was destroyed. There was a state of power that was legendary, known as Super-Saiyan. Their power increases by 50 times, and it was always thought to be a myth. Until Goku achieved it, fighting Frieza on Namek."

Seriously, at this point he was thinking about just writing it all down to make it easier to keep track of.

"My dad was saiyan. Somehow, somewhere, along the way, Vegeta settled on Earth and he and Mom got together."

And somewhere somewhere there is a 12th Doctor calling out "HYBRID!!!!""Oh!" The surprise is shown on her face, but Trunks is getting another gentle hug around the shoulders and a bit of a chin nudge from the opposite fist that doesn't rest on his shoulder.
They really had a lot in common then. Granted, her father, not her mum, was the inventor type, and her mum was definitely the fighter type, even going so far as to slap the Doctor, and could probably scare a dalek if given enough opportunity, and certainly where Rose got a lot of her fight and temerity. But the whole prince thing, Rose kind of gets, since she had to try to fit into her new life as an heiress.
"When Pete rescued me... the last time I'd seen him before that was years before," Years for Peter, as Rose found out from Mickey, but barely even a year for her, "And he said we weren't really related. Because we weren't, I mean he never had me in that universe, even though I had his blood, yeah? But he still, saved me from falling into the void, that's the gap between universes." She's talking to show him she gets it. And has her own point to go in this, and also mostly to try to give Trunks some time to collect his thoughts and emotions. Because at least in Rose's case, it was plenty an emotional thing, and she can't help but assume it would be for Trunks too.
"And I wound up trapped in his universe. And I was... pissed. I hated it. I wanted to be with the Doctor, in my own universe. But he married my Mum, sort of re-married her, because that universe's Jackie died in the cyberman takeover, which is how Pete got into Torchwood, to fight them. And they wound up having another son. My baby brother." She gently nudges her fist to Trunks' chin again. "Most of the time, I love Peter. I really really do. And I think of him more like my real Dad than just a step-Dad, but I swear there are some days where..." She removed her arms from his shoulders to spread her hands in a helpless shrug. "Yanno?" She bit her bottom lip. "So my askin' about your Dad, was a total selfish whim on my part, ya don't have to say anythin' more'n you wanna, okay?"
no subject
He listens though, and while it's definitely complicated and emotional... It's a different kind of complicated and emotional for him. The helpless shrug though, gets him to his feet. It's...awkward--and he's bright red, but giving her a hug too. Trying to offer some of that companionship she gave him, that understanding. "I didn't actually meet him, until I was 17. I went back to the past, for the first time, to warn them. To stop Frieza, to meet Goku, and give him medicine. To warn them of what was coming." A breath, and a slightly tighter hug, letting her hold it and decide the duration.
"It's all a very long story, and complicated. But in my time, I'm the only one left who can claim saiyan blood."
no subject
And awwww... Trunks is so adorable! And she hugs him back for a good bit, standing up, but moving back the chair eventually so he can feel slightly less awkward. Baby steps!
"I'm sorry," her eyes have all the sympathy, and it's clearly how much she genuinely means that sympathy. The way he said he brought back the medicine reminds her too of the way he talked about bringing back the medicine for Sunset. Made a lot of sense. Definitely clicked a few things. "Yeah, I was twenty. Nineteen when I met my birth Dad. I didn't mean to, just didn't want him to die alone. Accidentally tried to rescue him instead and created a paradox," she shook her head, "One of the worst things about time travel you can do. It's super dangerous, and nearly killed my friend. Well, it did kill him the first time. But my Dad got himself killed instead so my friend would come back." She offered him a hand to hold instead and gently gave his a squeeze.
"So your time stayed the same, or did you manage to alter -- parts, yeah?"
no subject
"See, I knew that was a possibility. So did mom." Gesturing with his hands, and they had indeed known the risk. "SO, remember how I said I think somehow I split off and changed the past, but not sure if it changed the future as my world stayed the same? Here's that point."
One hand spread out to one side. "This is the original time-line. Where when Frieza and his father came to Earth looking for revenge, Goku killed them." And his other hand placed beside it, "and here's my first trip back--when I took that place instead. I was there to meet Frieza and his father. Which is good because the other fighters on the planet, including Piccolo, Krillin, Gohan, and my father, were on their way to try and deal with Frieza too--and Goku would've been too late to stop them."
Okay, he probably doesn't realize his eyes are shining or his face is lighting up with the excitement, retelling this. Mostly he's just trying to make sure she understands. "So, I'm there. I take out Frieza and King Cold. Which threw everyone for a loop, not least of which my dad because at that point in time--he, Gohan, and Goku were the only saiyans around--and I'd just proven I was one but wasn't telling any of them who I was." A hint of wry-grin. "So, we all then went to where Goku was due to arrive, and when he showed up, I asked to talk to him. Alone. He was...really really surprised to find out who my father was too." Reaching up and rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "But I warned him. About everything. Including please please please do not tell my mom or dad who I was, because then I won't be born, and oh hey that'd be bad."
See? Got that Time Travel basics 101 covered.

"So, after warning them, I headed back to my time. I wanted to minimize potential damage, and I'd done what I came to do. It didn't change my world though, which...I think Mom and I kind of always knew would happen. But still--if we could keep it from happening to others...we had to try." Again that diamond hard determination in blue-eyes. "Unfortunately, the time machine I use also is a prototype. The first of it's kind. We had to wait for it to recharge, to get more fuel. While still dealing with my world as it was. Eventually I went back, to check on things. To try and help."
Reaching up and raking a hand through his bangs, then rubbing at the back of his neck. Honestly, for all his noble-intentions, Trunks could admit he'd had a few selfish-motivations too. So very curious about his father, and Goku, and young Gohan. Curious about all these people who were legends and friends of his mother. "It was about 3 years later, for them. That's when I realized how much things had changed. The androids that had appeared, weren't the ones I knew. They were different ones--including Dr. Gero making himself into one."
A sheepish smile. "The good news, is that I was born by this point. So, no worries there."

"Mind if I ask what you used for a device? My friend has... the best spaceship in the universe, but it looks like a big blue wooden box, from the 1950s," she giggled. "Normally I can't tell anyone that but..." she reached under the top of her shirt, and pulled out the key, still leaving it on its chain around her neck. "This is my key. The only way to get back home." She gave him a wistful lopsided grin, holding it out so he could touch it. Her treasure. "We locked the dimension cannon onto it so I wouldn't just be drifting endlessly through the void, and sort of like -- a vortex manipulator, that time agents way in the future of my universe used." She tucked the key back under her shirt, probably accidentally flashing Trunks in the process, and leaned back. "Jack was a Time Agent when he got his," she held up her wrist and gestured with holding a hand around it. "He wore it like a bracelet, and you can punch in the coordinates and years, but it's really difficult to use well." The Doctor could, but the Doctor was good with teleports. And time travel. And a TimeLord, not human. And still dumb enough to get himself drowned in the Thames.
"You didn't like... touch yourself and caused a paradox, didja? That's what accidentally killed my friend. My Mum was bein' dumb, so I was handed my baby self, and--" Rose snapped her fingers, "Reaper got in, and the Doctor saved us by letting himself get eaten instead of the others. Bought me more time with my Dad, but I'm sure I wouldn't 'ave chosen it. Not a fair trade, that."
no subject
The last question though had him snorting, his mouth twisting with a frown and his arms crossing over his chest. "Didn't have a choice, honestly. It was save myself and my mom from being blasted when my father didn't move, or risk not existing." The affronted indignation in his tone and posture is so his Father's right now, but he doesn't know that.
