"Okay, that's different." Elladan leans on his brother and stares.
"Which, the bodiless voice, or the blue person that just walked past." Elrohir laughs and shoves against him fondly.
"What are we doing, grandfathers?" They ask as one, turning identical grins to the older two.
"Scamps." Maglor shakes his head. "What were we thinking, Nelyo, bringing them along?"
"I do not think we were given much choice." Maedhros retorts wryly, before fixing the two with a commanders glare. "You heard our orders. Medicines, bandages. I'm sure your father taught you what to look for. Don't get in trouble. Don't get caught."
The grins don't fade, but both of them straigthen, responding to the command.
"We know what to look for." Elladan assures them.
"Mostly. Medicines, we will have to guess."
"But ... we have no coin?"
"Other than of our own world, and I doubt they will accept King's Currency or Shire Coin."
"They might." Maglor shakes his head. "But not as coin - gold and silver will always have worth, younglings, no matter's whose face is on the coin. Have a care of who you ask, but I am sure you will find someone willing to trade."
"Be back here within two hours." Maedhros orders. "Or we will come and find you."
"And if you are not, we will seek you." Elrohir promises softly.
"We have only just found you." Elladan agrees. "We don't let family get in trouble without us."
"I think." Maglor says dryly. "That Maedhros and I are old enough to look after ourselves. But thank you."
"Go on with you." Maedhros' gruff order is mixed with the clear affection in his eyes. "Take care."
"We will!"

"We will!"

Because the Valar find it funny"There you are!" Elladan reaches over to drag his brother closer.
"Yes I have! You still haven't given us your name, stranger!"
NO RUNNING.
no subject
"There I am. You know I will always come back and find you." He teased softer, finally looking at his brother.
Looking back at the other man, he gave him a curious look. "One should say a name to be called by. As you look to be a suspicious character hiding in shadows as you are." Perhaps a bit blunt, but he is over protective of his brother and the behavior is suspicious, thank you.
no subject
Clearly.Maglor stifled the resigned sigh, silently approving Elrohir's wariness. Eru, but he only partially wanted to flee. the rest of him was content to be this close.
"You have the right of it, my lords!" so he swallowed his fear and pain and aimed for a light tone and smile that struggled to reach his eyes, though thankfully was mostly hidden by his hood.
"I have been called many things, Bright Ones. The wanderer works as well as any." And he knew that wouldn't satisfy them, but he couldn't help offer a bit of bait.
no subject
"So I do, but you must admit that this place is quite distracting!"
He raises an eyebrow at the evasion.
"Bright? I think you are confusing us with our grandmother. Or our grandfather." He doesn't specify which, but it should be obvious which ones he's talking about, considering.
"And The Wanderer is a bit of a mouthful. Hardly a proper name. Why would anyone hide their name, I must be forced to wonder?"
Still light and jovial, but he's tenser, now.
no subject
Angling his head at the stranger, he watched him silently a moment brow furrowing just slightly. He wondered. A peculiar thought of whispers of the past as his brother mentioned their grandparents.
But the refusal to share a name caused him to frown further at the other individual. One hand moved to softly clasp his brother's wrist as he spoke quiet but firm. "Where there is power in a name, the fear of revealing it says much of the one that has much to hide."
Perhaps it is his protectiveness of Elladan, but he does not like this situation. "Do you have something to hide?" He asked in a curious tone, erring on the side of caution so he doesn't sound too much like one with their guard up. Not that his words did not give that away already.
no subject
"Nay! I see light and life in your faces!" The light in his voice was unforced then, and the smile easier to hold.
Something to hide? Oh yes. Much. Sorrow touched his eyes before he shoved it aside. Then he found himself bracing himself a little, inward, steeling his nerves for rejection. "When one gets to my age, with my experiences, there is often much to hide."
What was he doing?
"...You may know me as Maglor." He prepared himself to be attacked. And to not fight back or attempt to defend himself, however deep it would hurt.
no subject
clearly, he is making friends. badly."I am glad, for I would be lost without you!" Elladan grins back and squeezes his brothers fingers.
Both of them are tense now, although it is Elrohir openly suspicious and Elladan who hides that behind an open smile, but both are watching very closely.
"That may be so, but hiding never fixes the problem." Elladan says lightly. "Only prolongs the torment until one is found out."
........................
That name!
Elladan's breath catches and he starts forwards, eyes wide in wonder.
"Maglor? You're Maglor? The famous bard?"
Watch out, coz he's going for a hug. Or at least to grab a hand.
no subject
And where the story of Maglor is not one of all happiness, he knows the that the man meant them no ill will as his father spoke well of him. Which is why he moved with his twin, but not so quick to embrace.
He finally smiled at the other as he stood just behind his brother. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I never would have dreamed of meeting you, certainly not in a place like this..."
no subject
He wasn't expecting THAT! He was tensed against a blow or strike, not...for an embrace. He was frozen, staring helplessly down at Elladan, then up at Elrohir who was smiling down.
Slowly, hesitantly...almost painfully, he gently curled an arm around the twin hugging him, and shyly bowed his head to the other.
"...This Library is full of wonders..."
no subject
"We've been brought up on stories of you! This is a wonder indeed, for father was convinced that he would not see you again."
no subject
"You are much like family and I could only wish that Ada could see you now." He nodded once at this. "You need not hide from us."
no subject
Maglor huffed out a soft breath, absently brushing a careful hand over Elladan's head. "I kept away for your own safety." Though it had only broken his heart more. "Yours, and your father's. But I suppose, since we're here...I will not hide from you."
no subject
"Well I should hope not! We're family, after all."
no subject
"I do not believe though... that you needed to stay away from us. Maybe at one time.." He would admit some times were difficult, but now? Now he knew would be fine for their father to see him again. Or so he would have hoped.
no subject
"...Perhaps not...but habit is difficult to break. And I have never wished you harm."
no subject
"In a strange place, we should stick together." He points out cheerfully.
"And I am sure you would not - father and even Erestor were quite clear on the fact that you were very kind to them."
