Naturally, Luke didn't drop it right away. His mind was working quickly. He was powerful, but could a single Jedi take on so many like this if he had to? His first instinct was to try and diffuse the situation, to avoid conflict if he could.

"I'm sure there must be a peaceful solution to all of this. I prefer to find one if possible, but I'll defend myself if I have to." He kept his lightsaber engaged, but tried to keep a stance that didn't look menacing or threatening.
