Luke "I am a Jedi" Skywalker ([personal profile] farmboyjedi) wrote in [community profile] central_librarylogs 2017-01-18 04:40 am (UTC)

Luke listened, letting everything sink in as the others talked. He was glad to feel his contact with the Force return to full strength now that they were through the gateway. In the library area, it had been suppressed, his abilities diminished.

The others talked about things like dividing up the tasks, needing to fit in, and first of all, introductions. He nodded, agreeing that it made the most sense. The thought crossed his mind that in his Jedi robes, he might actually blend in somewhat.

"My name is Luke." he told them. "Luke Skywalker. I do agree with most of what you've all said...needing to do introductions and dividing up tasks and such." He didn't feel the need to include his title right now, it likely wouldn't mean much to the others anyway, and Luke was always a humble kind of guy anyway. If questions about his abilities came up, he'd be happy to explain, though.

He looked around at the landscape again. "I grew up on a farm, but a very different kind than this...It was a desert planet, and we used machines to farm moisture from the air. This is definitely not going to be the same. But, I travel a lot, so I'm used to adapting to different environments." He was used to the common technology of the galaxy, but there were plenty of times when he was called on to negotiate, to investigate potential Jedi, and other such things, where he had to visit planets that weren't as advanced as others. Or, like Tattooine, the Ewok village, and Yavin IV, they were mixes of modern technology and more primitive, simple ways of life.

He nodded to Trance as he shook hands. Naturally, he was used to species with a wide array of skins and pelts, so he didn't think much at all of her purple skin. Still, he knew how common negative reactions were to those who were different. "Yes, that's a good idea. Unfortunately, I don't think there are many places where people don't get frightened or distrustful of those who look different. There are probably thousands of races where I come from, and there's still no escaping discrimination, fear, and hate way too much of the time."
