Who: Bob the Fae and YOU
Where: Around the Library
What: Bob got legs and hands and a moving mouth for Christmas
When: Just after the magic was worked until the end of the Holiday event
Warnings: Bob is a flirt and a bit of a trickster so guard your loved ones.

It had been such a long time since Bob had had anything remotely like hands and feet that it took him hours to relearn how to move and grip things again, but once he had figured all that out, Bob had explored for as long as his feet would let him learning every corner of the Library the same way everyone else did. He was also able to watch people in a different way, since most of them would see the dapper man with the white hair as a new patron not an old friend.

And Bob was going to take full advantage of this. Currently he was at the Market, poking around the stalls and chuckling to himself.

He knew he was being rude. It could get him in serious trouble. The Fae pretended to be friendly to Shadowhunters but recent events made it dangerous to be around them. But in the Victorian era, things should be less tense between the Seelie and Nephilim. And, sometimes, curiosity overwhelmed Alec's good sense.

Wishing he had Jace with him, or that he possessed some of Jace's eloquence, he finally decided to approach the being. If he asked an innocent question, he shouldn't get into too much trouble with the Fae. "Good day, Sir. Please forgive me for interrupting, but can you give me directions to the London Institute?"

"The place that I'm asking about doesn't exist on most maps." Even if he was in the right version of London, he still wouldn't be able to find it on the average map. He knew that what he was doing was dangerous but probably not as bad as his last trip to visit the Seelie queen. "I would like to visit with my family." Pausing, he gave the being a wary look. Maybe his history lessons weren't as accurate as he'd hoped. Relations between Shadowhunters and the Fae might not be as friendly as he'd thought.

"Forgive me for disturbing you." Alec knew better than to reach for a weapon, but he was ready for a fight if he had to. He just hoped he wouldn't have to. "I thought that there were friendlier relations between my kin and yours."

Could be... Maybe relations with the Fae here were similar to back home. Which meant that Alec was not someone who would be looked upon with kindness. Not when he'd killed a fairy knight and had threatened the Seelie Queen.

For some reason, the first thing he thought of saying was something more Jace-like than his usual nature. "I've been messing with forces that could kill me since I was ten years old." He sounded more confident than he felt but most of his worry was for the Mundanes around him. "You know my name, but I don't know yours."

The tension bled out of him with a relieved sigh. He really hadn't wanted to fight anyone. He'd never had a problem with the Fae, except when they had tormented him and helped others hurt his family. Actually, he preferred not to fight at all if he could avoid it.

As the words sank in, he couldn't stop himself from staring. "Bob?" It took a few seconds for Alec to connect the skull that snarked at him and made lewd comments about his love life with the Fae standing in front of him. "Is the curse broken?"

"You offended Mab. No wonder you and Magnus get along." At least Magnus hadn't gotten cursed when he did whatever it was that caused the Seelie queen to hate him. Not that Alec was probably a favorite of the Fae either.

"Maybe they can find a way to extend it beyond the holiday. The Librarians seem to have access to power beyond what's normal for our realities." Alec doubted that whatever Bob had done really merited being stuck as a spirit in a skull. The punishment seemed harsh but typical for the Fae.

He almost said something about immortality but thought better of it. The subject was still an uncomfortable one and he really wasn't sure if he wanted to know more about it. "I'm surprised all she did was curse you. I thought she killed anyone who annoyed her."
