Who: Bob the Fae and YOU
Where: Around the Library
What: Bob got legs and hands and a moving mouth for Christmas
When: Just after the magic was worked until the end of the Holiday event
Warnings: Bob is a flirt and a bit of a trickster so guard your loved ones.
It had been such a long time since Bob had had anything remotely like hands and feet that it took him hours to relearn how to move and grip things again, but once he had figured all that out, Bob had explored for as long as his feet would let him learning every corner of the Library the same way everyone else did. He was also able to watch people in a different way, since most of them would see the dapper man with the white hair as a new patron not an old friend.
And Bob was going to take full advantage of this. Currently he was at the Market, poking around the stalls and chuckling to himself.

Wishing he had Jace with him, or that he possessed some of Jace's eloquence, he finally decided to approach the being. If he asked an innocent question, he shouldn't get into too much trouble with the Fae. "Good day, Sir. Please forgive me for interrupting, but can you give me directions to the London Institute?"

Bob recognized the voice as soon as it spoke and he was feeling a bit torn. Alec was his friend and yet he was also making a very dumb mistake. Does he mess with Alec a little bit to teach him a lesson about poking at forces he doesn't understand or does he reveal himself and lecture Alec anyway? He turns and decides for the first option as he cools his tone of voice and thickens his already sharp British accent. "Americans always having to ask for directions when a map would do just as well," he says, "What do you want at the Institute that would would ask a complete stranger for help getting there?"

"Forgive me for disturbing you." Alec knew better than to reach for a weapon, but he was ready for a fight if he had to. He just hoped he wouldn't have to. "I thought that there were friendlier relations between my kin and yours."
no subject
Bob shook his head. "Perhaps there could be," he said easily, "but I haven't been among my own kin for many centuries so I wouldn't know. You, however should know better then to mess with forces that could kill you Alec. I would have though you had better sense."

For some reason, the first thing he thought of saying was something more Jace-like than his usual nature. "I've been messing with forces that could kill me since I was ten years old." He sounded more confident than he felt but most of his worry was for the Mundanes around him. "You know my name, but I don't know yours."
no subject
"Of course you know my name," Bob replied, "well you know the name I was given. And you are used to seeing me a little less fleshed out...and limbless." He bows. "It's me Bob...this is what I looked like before I was cursed to become a magical laptop."

As the words sank in, he couldn't stop himself from staring. "Bob?" It took a few seconds for Alec to connect the skull that snarked at him and made lewd comments about his love life with the Fae standing in front of him. "Is the curse broken?"
no subject
Bob wiggled his hand."Not exactly no," he said, "only Mab herself can break the actual curse as it was she I offended. This is a Christmas gift from Klaus and his spirits. A "thank you for all that you do" kind of thing. It will last as long as the holiday magic does and then I'm back to my old bony self again."
no subject
"Maybe they can find a way to extend it beyond the holiday. The Librarians seem to have access to power beyond what's normal for our realities." Alec doubted that whatever Bob had done really merited being stuck as a spirit in a skull. The punishment seemed harsh but typical for the Fae.

"Possibly, but I haven't asked," Bob says, "don't want to count my chickens as you mortals say. And yes I offended Mab, not the smartest move to make, but she used to find it funny when I did it to others in her court so I figured why not. And I found out why not in a rather large way."
