Years of abuse combined with the ability to have prophetic dreams meant that Magnus didn't react as strongly to nightmares as most people. But he had been worried about the claw marks on Alec and what would happen if the dreams escalated. "We haven't figured it out yet. Bob's tried to get a lock on it but he hasn't had much luck."

The question about the old injuries surprised him. Only a handful of people ever worried about his safety. Even his parents hadn't really shown much concern when he was wounded.
