Flynn and Cosmo in jail (closed)

Whoever said there was no arguing their way out of jail hadn't met Flynn. Who'd argued his way out of more than one jail. The trouble was, it meant shouting after their jailer.

"They just wanted to get married!" he shouted. "Your city leader isn't in his right mind! You need us to help him!"

But a door clanged shut and it was no good. Flynn sighed and sat on the bench, opposite his companion. He rummaged in his pockets to see if he had anything to open the lock with.

"We're going to have to break out of here," he said.

"Yes, you know what they say about bridesmaids." Flynn clicked his fingers. "And watching their friend getting married will make them think about getting a man themselves. You know what women are like."

The guard was looking unsure. Which was a start. "But I can't abandon my post," he said.

Cosmo can't help but think of at least two women who wouldn't fall into that stereo type! He crossed his arms and gave a casual shrug.

"Why not do both. Those things always need security." He bit back another quip, he hadn't read the cop right yet and didn't want to trip to far. If this other guy, he should get his name at some point, could roll with it...he might bring up the idea of sneaking out.

Flynn hasn't met a single woman who would fall into that stereotype. But he'd read books. And this security man didn't have a woman in his life - perhaps he was lonely enough to believe some women did.

"They do," the guard agreed with Cosmo, standing up straighter.

Flynn gave Cosmo a brief smile, glad Cosmo could fit with his plan. "I know how to get the wedding to happen," he said, "but you'll have to come closer. We don't want anyone to overhear."

Come closer? Huh, where was this guy going with this whole thing. Figuring it was better to keep playing along he sat up on the bed. "It's like a buffet, pal." He relaxed, or at least looked like he did, this was probably the kicker part and Cosmo wasn't keen enough on the plan to know where to follow just yet.

Maybe Flynn's patter was working, maybe he was just curious. Whatever it was, the guard came closer.

Flynn made a show of looking around. "I only want to tell you," he said, lowering his voice, "because you look like someone I can trust. But I can't tell if anyone's coming."

He waited to see if the guard took the bait. Even if he just locked himself in the cell with them, that would be good enough to get to the key.
