Rose got up and gingerly sat beside him on the mattress, gently giving a small hug around the shoulders. Bad habits died hard, and she'd been known to comfort even enemies she'd been raging at only seconds before.
"I've spent the last... I can't even count how long, trying to make a fixed point, to keep someone from dying." She let out a deep breath and hugged Trunks a little harder. "For what it's worth, it gets easier, yeah?" she gave him a lopsided grin, trying to cheer him up with her promise. "It really does. Because eventually you get the hang of what causes what else, and it's a lot easier to snap the right things into place." She gently nudged a fist to his chin in a 'cheer up' move. "And it sounds like, you're working against a lot more than just one man's own stubborn stupidity like I am, yeah?" another wry lopsided grin, because there was a lot more to it than that, but still. "It gets better, I promise," she gingerly knuckled his shoulder comfortingly.
