August Event: Protesting the Mad Tea Party

It is the year 2015 AD on a fog laden day during the fall. Stonehenge is a monolith of ancient mystery and history to the people of England and all around the world. Tourists pour in from all corners of the globe to see this historic location… but in the mists of dawn, the light pierces the grayness and soon objects can be seen moving.
A man with frazzled hair and a large top hat directs in a long table and various creatures sneak in. The March Hare is in attendance, as is the Door Mouse and the Cheshire Cat. If you look closely enough a few strange animals waddle in along with the White Rabbit, arms laden with tea cups and pots that clatter noisily in the once silent world.
“We must hurry, yes, hurry!” The Rabbit taps his watch as they all scurry, laughing merrily to set up the table and find any chair they can. Yes, the tea part is starting, but the sun is also rising. Tourists will be coming soon. And to find such a sight?
The Head Librarian has cloaked the Mad Tea Party to seem as no more than a group of unruly teenagers throwing a party and singing drunkenly in Wiltshire, England this day… But even that will not stop them from being arrested for disturbing the peace. The clock is ticking… don’t be late.
Your team will enter through the blue white portal and step out into the damp early hours of the morning… catch them. Bring them back. Do not hurt them. They are simply looking for a bit of fun and the perfect place for tea! Careful… their madness is contagious.
[OOC: This is for Team: Protesting the Mad Tea Party only. You will play out your ‘chaos’ and adventures in collecting the Wonderland citizens and returning them home. This is ONLY for team work and getting things done. If you have questions, you can call for Bob the Skull or The Cat to help you. Bob will be running communications. Once you finish the event (or at the same time if you will), patrons may use this time to use portals to enter Modern day Wiltshire and go shopping in a private log. But not in the team log.]
Update! To help the event conclude, options are being provided to help organize the groups. These can be tagged meme style to help give more structure to the tasks. Current threads can be completed and new ones started.
Options
1. Reasoning with Madness. Maybe the patrons can convince the party goers to find a new place to have tea?
2. Out of Refreshments! Now's the time to nab the teapot or the jam and make a break for it! Maybe the Mad Hatter will be too worried about the china to remember that they were supposed to be having a party.
3. Don't get Arrested! Keep the party goers from going to jail! The police are getting impatient with this group of 'teens'. Maybe a patron or two can keep them from trying to arrest the citizens of Wonderland?

4. Clean Up Crew! The Mad Hatter's parties are always messy. Make sure that none of the cutlery wanders off and keep the locals from trying one of those interesting Wonderland cakes!

There are what seem to be floating lights and a large table covered in teapots, jam, cups and some broken items. Around the table are smiling animals and one human that seemed to head the whole ordeal. "I do not suppose... we could just ask them nicely to pick up and go?"
He glanced back at the others, his eyes lingering on Fili before stopping on his brother. "They seem... a lively bunch." Or just really loud and intoxicated? But the girl Clara did say they were a bit insane.

"Can we tase them?"
no subject
no subject
"Aye, they do. With a rather hobbit-ish fondness for food and drink, it seems! It almost seems a pity to interrupt, although I suppose we must."
no subject
Shaking the thought away, he glanced at his brother and smiled just a little. "But if they are 'mad', would it be wise to partake of food and drink of their table. I fear that is risking quite a bit."

I'm just going to kinda tie in Elladan and Nat's replies as well to link everything
He glanced at Elladan as he came to a stop near Elrohir, lips quirking in a grin as he hooked his thumbs into his belt absently.
"Funny you should say that, master elf. Remind me to tell you of a hobbit-ish party we attended." Even if Bilbo hadn't been pleased about it.
going with a Bruce, Elladan/Elrohir, Nat, Fili posting order
He glances at the group. "Major rule...no using weapons. We talk them down before we start hitting things is that understood?"
no subject
His eyes instantly went to his sword and nodded though reluctantly. Right. No killing. He recalled this rule. "So... do you think we can convince them or will we be capturing them?"
no subject
He nudges against his brother companionably, and eyes the toast butterfly oddly. "Well, you are already a little mad, my brother, so perhaps no one will notice."
"If they are mad, sir, will they even respond to words?" He asks Bruce
Hope no one minds if I shove Clara into this mess somewhere!
To that she came fulling into the group, looking around with wide eyes. This was almost as cool as stepping off the TARDIS. She knows that the one brother wasn't talking to her but to Bruce, but she had to make note of it as well.
"If you use the right words, maybe. They'll want us to join in, I bet. We should keep a look out for locals as well. They mentioned that the party looks like teenagers throwing a party? We can expect local law enforcement, I am sure."
Re: Hope no one minds if I shove Clara into this mess somewhere!
"We should split up. It might make things easier?"
no subject
And how he would fuss over the tea party. The way he had when... "Could we lure them back? Bilbo chased us all around Bag End when he thought we might break his dishes. Perhaps we can tempt them away from the Stones in a similar manner. They can't have a tea party if we take their tea."
no subject
Something that was much easier said than done because of how ridiculous this all was. He found himself playing host to a toast butterfly of his own, lifting a hand to touch the thing where it rested on his shoulder.
"Kili does have a point. We could turn it into a game of chase. Round them all up that way," he piped up, shooting his brother an impish sort of grin.
no subject
Well. That actually stood debatable on both sides. They certainly had their moments.
"Shall we round up the strange... ah.. creatures? Or do you think there is another way to catch them?" Elrohir frowned as he watched the cat disappear at one end of the table and flicker back into view closer to them at this end of the table. A toothy smile broke lose on the feline face that was anything but sane...
"By the Valar that is a strange thing to see..."
no subject
"You wound me, my brother, and in public, no less! But that sounds a most estimable idea. Perhaps if we were to grab the teapots..."
He blinks at the vanishing feline.
"...That, muindor nin, is probably the biggest understatement of the day. Perhaps it will be amenable to mice?" He offers doubtfully.
no subject
As one make a comment about taking tea pots, and they start agreeing about making it a game and chase, Clara grins, watching them all. "Brilliant! I actually think that would work well for most of them. This group does love a game. If we can get them to play a game of chase and keep away, we should be fine! Round up of the smaller things might be a breeze if we get the main ones away."
4! With a touch of catching the little creatures (and the cat annoyances)
But this time, as he tried to snatch up the sugar jar with the drunk mouse, he jumped back when the cat appeared in front of him. Blinking a few times, the large eyes were far too big and glowed a little too bright next to the white bright smile. "One must ask, is that the best way to catch a mouse? There is more than one way, of course."
Elrohir stood still as the cat seemed to unravel before his eyes. What was this strange magic? The cat laughed somewhere behind him as he saw the mouse escape down the table.
no subject
When she was trying to use a box to put the rest of the tea party china in, the CAT had shown up to give her helpful hints. She had a brief conversation with him, sitting the box down near the portal out, only to try and find the cat. She saw a smile in one place, and it faded away. Then a tail. then further the ears, all fading and moving farther. He was leading her somewhere.
She started after him, looking around. Oh no, they had missed one. She lost sight of him though, and little did she know the cat was bothering Elrohir now. She came around a stone to see Elrohir there, pausing as she looked around.
"You haven't seen the cat, have you? I think we've missed him." She stood there, hands on her hips, looking worriedly at Elrohir. She had no idea that she was now sporting a tail and ears, from the cat floating behind her.
3 - Local Law Enforcement!
When the Dormouse sleepily came out of a tea pot, she tried to capture it, trying to school him up and take him back to where he should go, but it escaped and a short chase happened, leading her to nearly run into one of the local law enforcers.
Standing properly she looked up at the man, who looked beyond annoyed. "This party has gone on long enough, miss." He said in an authoritative voice. Little Clara stood as tall as she could, looking to the man.
"We've got this under control, my good man. Another few minutes and it will be cleared out." She hoped. She dug around in her pocket, pulling out a little black square and flipping it open. Thank some gods for her still having this on her when she was brought here, because the man was giving her a look that said he didn't think she was important.
Flashing him the 'badge' she held it up and spoke in her most important tone. "If you need proof here is my ID."
"Environment Agency UK?" the man read, sounding a bit dubious.
Clara snapped it closed and tucked it back into her jumper pocket. "That is correct! EAUK. The moment we heard about this disturbance we shot right on over. You see the mess they're making over there? If we have any more people crowding around and chasing down these offenders it could be an Environmental disaster! Historical horror!"
Clara tried sounding more stern about all this. "I need you and your men to keep back. Hold a line. Make sure no one else joins this ridiculous party. They shouldn't have made it here in the first place! Why was security so lack to start with?"
As the man started to speak, looking more uncomfortable, Clara interrupted him. "No matter! the trouble is done already. Please, help us help you. Keep everyone back. tourists, lookie-lous, your own men. We've got a crew here for clean up. We'll be taking them in for questioning, AND making things right. We're trained for this, are you? Yes, well. I have some work to do. Oh, and please, keep a look out for my superior. He'll be coming up the road here shortly. A short man in a large blue van. Please let him through." there was no one coming, but it might leave the man busy, and it would mean he wouldn't bother calling to check on all this if the boss was coming anyhow, right?
Clara gave the man a confident smile, ran a hand over her hair to fix it and started to turn and walk off. To make a show of it, she pointed at someone (anyone in her group that was near by) and called out. "Jones! Please be careful with that! This is a environmental nightmare."
Who ever she just yelled to, she went jogging up to them and leaving the officer there to look boggled and unsure. The man turned and went back, pointing two of his men to down the road. Maybe that would help.
She stopped before said person and huffed, looking almost pale. "I really hope we get this contained fast. I don't know if my story will be convincing long enough. Now where is that blasted mouse..."
no subject
"Jones am I now? Well than, 'boss', what now? You certainly seem used to this!"
no subject
"When you travel around as much as I have you end up picking up a few tricks here and there. Local Law is always snoopy. That wont last long. I think if we find everything and get them out of here they'll be a lot happier. Oh ah... I was chasing down the Dormouse. You haven't seen it anywhere, have you?" She hoped it would all asleep soon.
no subject
"Mm, I have not, but I assume he, it? must be fairly small. I will help you look, however - near the tea table?"
no subject
Honestly, she'd just be happy to get this cleared up and relax a bit. She nodded to his thought though. "Perhaps back to the table. That was where I originally caught him... her? It. But it got away from me. Oh gosh, I wonder if that offer thought I was chasing a small child or something. I'm not sure how the Liberians illusions work for them."
That suddenly made her chuckle, walking with the other back to the ruins and the party table. Thankfully some things had happened to clear a few things up.
no subject
"That might explain his concern, if that was what he saw, aye." His eyes scan over the table thoughtfully.
"Mm, there is so much mess, you would think they had a grand party, rather than there only being those few! One must wonder why they felt the need for so much stuff."
no subject
"If I remember right, in the books they were cursed to live their life in this tea party. Stuck there moving around and around the table and cracking wise over tea and biscuits. They're all a bit mental, so the mess doesn't surprise me. What surprises me is that they didn't use this as an opportunity to run around more."
She paused as the sight of the table came back into view. Sighing she frowned at it. "You're right though. This is a big mess."
no subject
"Well, if as you say they only normally sit around the table, I suppose it took a while before they realised they were no longer confined to it? Such a strange thing! But then, stories do not always make sense to the reader, I suppose."
He shakes his head. "I hope the doormouse is here, for we might be in for a long afternoon."
2 - Stealing tea
Plates and cups were swapped over and over until Kili was almost dizzy. At least until he caught up two of the wayward cups and he began juggling them. When the rabbit - the March Hare? - saw him, the hare demanded that he try three.
Soon he had three cups tumbling in the air while he picking up a few lyrics of the strange song the party goers sang. It was not exactly what he expected when he suggested stealing the china but it was working. At least the party at Bilbo's had given prepared him for acrobatic tea cups. Now if he could get someone to help him guide the March Hair toward the portal back to the Library...
no subject
He tips his head to Kili, gesturing for him to start wandering slowly in the direction of the portal, as he snags the teapot and pours himself a cup, taking advantage of his height to dodge the indignant hand of the Hare.
"A fair cup indeed, good master" He sings out cheerfully. "And many a thanks for your hospitality~"
no subject
"They are excellent cups. Well balanced." The Hare sputtered at the comment while Kili continued to back away from the tea party. "We should thank them for letting us use them by showing them hospitality back home." If the beings from Wonderland thought that there was a party in the Library they might decide to follow them to the portal.
no subject
"And the brew is" SSSSSSSSSSSSSiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip "Most tasty! I think it will be most useful back home!"
He backs towards the portal as well, taunting.
4- TAMING THE BEAST
Everything had managed to get put back in it's place and it was only then that she approached The Hulk.
"Hey Big guy. The sun is getting real low," She said softly, wondering if it would work after all this time.
