1st Period--Arriving.

Ok, maybe he had taken one too many hockey pucks to the head. Casey groaned as he sat up slowly, wondering what had knocked him out this time. Brown eyes widened behind the skull-hockey mask as he took in the main hall. "Aw man...Is this the nightmare where my teacher's been replaced by a Kraang and is making us write essays again?" Clearly a teenager's voice, as he gets to his feet.

At least he was in his vigilante gear and ready to fight if it came to it. Still, this place almost reminded him of the sewer tunnels around the lair, except for all the books. Donnie'd love it. Turning in a wide circle to take it all in, before spotting the main reception desk.

Alright--libraries weren't his favorite places to go, but he had been in them. Occasionally. When forced to, or lose his spot on the team. Moving over to the desk, keeping his mask down for now. "Excuse me!" Not bothering to keep his voice down either, as he looked for anyone who might provide him answers.

The Cat was watching their newest patron from one of the higher shelves. Curled up so that he looked like a black ball of fur, the tip of his tail lashed slightly as he considered how to best to approach the teenager.

Ears lowering at the volume of Jones' voice, the Cat sighed. Shouting in the Library wasn't a problem except the Cat's ears were sensitive. Really, some people had no sense of manners.

Sighing, he stood, stretching his front legs in front of him and arching his back before hopping down. He sauntered over to the desk and jumped on top of it so he was closer to Jones' height. "You will be excused if you use a tone of voice that is better suited for those who have a unique hearing range."

"Whispering is not necessary. Screaming is rude, especially when speaking to someone with hearing more sensitive than your own." Wrapping his tail around his paws, he studied their new patron carefully, trying to decide if Jones would see him as a cat or as another type of being. "Welcome to the Library. I am the Non-Fiction Librarian. Do you remember why you were brought here?"

"That was our Head Librarian. He sent out a call to ask for assistance in keeping the Library safe. Those who wished to help were brought here." His tail curled in a lazy question mark shape. "There are a few rules for our patrons to follow but overall you are our guest."

"This is not a normal library. The Library connects worlds and if it or its books are damaged, the results will be... unpleasant." Sitting straighter, the Cat hummed thoughtfully. "Things may occasionally escape from the pages of the books. Some must not be harmed. The Librarians will direct you on which must be protected. You are not allowed to harm the other patrons. There will be no killing. No fights for reasons other than training. We wish to ensure the safety our patrons as much as possible while they are within our walls. You may not access information that is beyond what is known in your world and profit from it. We cannot have realities being altered by knowledge that they are not ready for."

"Enforcement depends on the crime." The Cat stretched languidly, his version of a shrug. "If it is a small infraction, then certain privileges will be revoked. For larger ones, the punishment is more severe. If someone cannot obey the rules, then they will be removed."

This reminded him of the type of questions the HYDRA agent had asked. "Whatever conflicts or vendettas you have in your past life are to be forgotten here. You are here to protect something greater than your home. Your grievances were left behind for the greater good. The patrons will coexist peacefully while within the Library. Only those who have promised to help us and are committed to that promise are brought here."

Curling his tail around his paws, he stared at Jones with a Sphinx like expression. "I would rather not be forced to punish our patrons for infractions that could be easily avoided."

"We have had others here who have considered continuing their squabbles. Best to stop that before it starts." His posture slowly relaxed before the Cat began washing a paw. "You're here to save more than things. Each world that our patrons left is in danger. Those worlds and countless others are what are at risk."

Pausing, he let those words sink in before continuing. "What would you like to know about? I will answer what questions I may but others are off limits."

His tail thumped against the desk as the Cat considered those words. "I hope you aren't considering the 'he started it so I finished it' mentality. Protecting yourself is acceptable if attacked but if more force than necessary is used, then all who participated will be punished." The Cat yawned, baring needle-sharp fangs. "I am not known to be lenient when certain rules are broken.

"There are rooms available for our patrons. Each has a the basics necessary for each being." Using his tail, he pointed in the correct direction where Jones would find some of the rooms. "There is a market where you may purchase what things you might need."
